Paid Internships in Maths and Physics

Paid teaching internships for Maths, Physics and Engineering undergraduates (or related subjects) are now available in many schools  across England. They will take place  after the university exams in June / July  2019, as they have done for the past 3 years. You can register your interest in taking part in the programme now by following the link at the foot of this page.

Locations include:

Stockport, Salford, Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, Halton, Warrington, Wirral, Chester, Cheshire, Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley,  Durham, Newcastle upon Tyne, Darlington, Teeside, Halifax, Wakefield and Sowerby Bridge.
 
The Internship Programme

The  programme consists of a 4 week internship in June /July  2019 (after exams) . Interns are paid  £1200 to work with young people in excellent schools to deliver maths and/or Physics projects,  provide tutoring and learn the art of teaching .  All interns  receive training and develop communication and presentation skills that will serve you well in any career you choose to follow.  If you develop an interest in teaching you will be assigned a careers advisor who will support you in applying for scholarships and bursaries of up to £30k tax free to train as a teacher and we will guarantee you an interview to train as a teacher.

To take part you will have good A levels in Maths (and Physics if you want to teach Physics) and you will be following an undergraduate degree course in Mathematics, Physics, engineering or a related subject.
